This Weeks Fashion Rundown: Mid Weather Knockouts

Hey Everyone.

Girl Overload here.

Update: I had to take a temporary hiatus because of exams (and yes, I’m still in school if you’re wondering).

But Girl Overload is back, and she’s here to share her fashion words of wisdom with everyone yet again.

Starting with mid-weather fashion. Whether you live in the Northern or Southern hemisphere, your current weather will probably be either spring or autumn/fall. And yes, this information probably won’t be useful for people in tropical countries, but since I live in the Southern Hemisphere and it’s almost summer where I live, a special summer post will come soon, so stay tuned for that.

Mid-Weather Knockouts. Anyone can achieve this look, just with a bit of creativity and perseverance.

So here goes.

Layers Are Key

As mentioned in this particular image, wearing bulky coats are not a good idea in term of mid-weather fashion and opting for light jackets is a much better choice overall.

The only time where any person should wear is in the extreme snowy cold or when temperatures drop any lower than 10°C.

Closed Toed Shoes Are A Must

Closed toed shoes such as boots, ballet flats, sneakers, or even heels, are a definite must throughout the autumn and/or spring. Try not to wear sandals or flip-flops throughout any seasons except for summer, as it might give you a serious case of cold feet, and trust me, I know from experience.

Accessorize And Style Your Outfits Depending On The Season

As seen on this image, you need to choose your outfit and accessories based on what season it is. Wear more muted tones with a pop of colour in autumn and wear more polka dots and girly pastels in the spring.

Here’s a classic example. Except, maybe don’t wear jeans and sneakers in the summer unless you want to catch a major case of burning legs.

But maybe that’s just my opinion.

Search Up Parisian Outfits Online

This one is pretty self explanatory. Lots of parisian themed outfits are neither summer nor winter themed, so go research Parisian style on an image browser such as Google Images or Pinterest. Trust me, you won’t feel disappointed!

Blend It All Together With A Fresh Style Icon

Finally, a style icon. Without a true style icon, your look will probably be all over the place. I have mentioned style icons on my blog before, so I definitely recommend that you find a few.

One of my spring style icons is Taylor Swift, with her offbeat outfits and colourful dresses.

Some other good style icons to choose from are Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello, and anyone who just loves a good floral scheme.

Overall, just try to find some good inspiration to tie your look together.

So rock it.

Signing out,

Girl Overload.

P.S. This post took over a month to make (on and off) so please keep in mind that I do know that it’s technically almost summer/winter but I have worked on this post for a while now so please be appreciative. Also if you have any copyright claims about photos or other external material please contact me so that we can sort things out. Enjoy my post and great internal fashion wisdom 😉

Thanks for tuning in.

Hi Caitlin. I really enjoyed reading this article and love some of the tips you gave and here is what I think of them. I am really not a huge fan of heavy coats/clothing because they can be uncomfortable, can make u look bigger and not even keep you warm (depending on the quality). In my wardrobe I have many light garments, for example this light jacket that is quite thin fabric yet I feel like I am wearing a hot blanket when I put it on and it is also really cute! I think closed shoes are the best to wear because it’s just appropriate rather than getting around in open footwear meant for summer and you can also add your own stylish twists for example by pairing some boots with a cute denim skirt and turtleneck. What I love about the different seasons is that each one has their own style and color scheme. Winter is my fav season for styling and dressing because I think I can be really creative with the color scheme and clothes that I own. I love to always add Parisian features throughout the seasons to my outfits. The Parisian style is my fav because it is such a classy and elegant look that will always be timeless. 🙂 I am inspired by vintage pictures from the 20s – 60s of my fav chic style icons like Brigitte Bardot and Audrey Hepburn.
Thank you Caitlin for this article and can’t wait for the next one.

    • Hi Summer. Yes, that was the point of the article (or that step). The point was to not wear thick coats unless you are very cold, but to layer up with smaller jackets or just one thin jacket. I might have not made that very clear so thanks for your advice.
